Major concerns raised ,first Biden-Putin interaction


The first interaction between Joe Biden the President of the United States and the Russian leader Vladimir Putin took place on Tuesday via phone where Biden also implied that he did not intend on improving relations rather just managing the differences.

Biden raised various concerns including opposition figure Alexei Navalny's arrest , reports on Russian bounties on American troops in Afghanistan. An agreement was made regarding the extension of the NEW START nuclear weapons treaty expiring next month on 5th February.

In the call Biden broke sharply regarding his knowledge about Russia's attempted interference with U.S election of 2016 and 2020.He also clarified that in response to Russia's actions to harm the US allies they would act firmly in defense of its nation interest.Biden also voiced the SolarWinds cyber hack attributed to Russia.

The white house remarked whilst Russia is backing separatists in Ukraine's east ,Biden was unwavering regarding U.S. support for the nation's sovereignty.

Prior to his call with Putin ,Biden reassured U.S. allegiance to the decades old Bulwark alliance against Russian aggression to the NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg.

Among the other issues discussed were the corona virus pandemic,Iran nuclear agreement, trade and economy.

Kremlin's readout of the call said that Putin also congratulated Biden on becoming the president and described the talk as Frank and business like.
